Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is a central nervous system stimulant. It is FDA-approved to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults and in children who are at least 6 years old. As a stimulant, Vyvanse works by improving the way parts of the brain communicate with each other. It is a brand of stimulant drug that was approved to treat ADHD in 2008. Vyvanse is an amphetamine-based stimulant that works a little differently than Adderall
